On the 9 th july the iea held a high level ministerial meeting to discuss accelerating the transition to clean energy in the context of covid 19. Speakers highlighted that the iea summit comes at a pivotal moment when the world faces urgent and shared challenges to build back economies create jobs and accelerate clean energy transitions. At our ministerial meeting in december i announced plans to hold an iea clean energy transitions summit in 2020.

The summit was the culmination of a series of key iea activities in recent months.
