Pass over the stain multiple times until the spot is fully saturated. Wait 5 minutes then gently scrape up loosened paint using the putty knife. You may also remove dried paint with nail polish remover or paint thinner. Mix a cup of lukewarm water with one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent just make sure the detergent is mild. Blot and pick up the dried particles until the stain is removed. The next step is to apply a small amount of the vinegar over the paint stain and then dip the toothbrush into the hot vinegar and start rubbing the carpet.

Dab a cloth in acetone hydrogen peroxide or paint thinner and blot the stain to remove. After spraying it or applying it to the stain you ll want to use a putty knife to lift up as much of the dried paint as you can. To remove dried paint with either chemical start by scraping the paint stain with a razor blade or knife to get as much of the paint off as you can before you apply the chemical. Wear protective gloves when cleaning the carpet with toxic chemicals to protect your hands.

100 acetone or hydrogen peroxide are suitable alternatives if you do not have paint cleaner available. Whatever you do no matter how desperately you want to remove paint from carpet resist the urge to scrub. Once you ve removed the dried paint then you need to focus on the fibers of the carpet as there is still going to be stuff there. You don t need anything fancy for this.
